Warm up first!: Stretching is important prior to exercise and may play a role in the cool down process as well. First, one needs to warm up prior to any stretching. Many muscles, tendons and ligaments are strained by stretching first. The stretch loosens the connective tissues and allows better movement during your physical exercise. Remember, warm up, stretch, exercise, consider stretching and finally cool down.
