Instead of my normal period (4days) i have been spotting brown for 6 days now. i also had cramping and headaches. what could this be?

No clear answer: If there is a chance of pregnancy, do pregnancy test. If negative, just wait for another period. Women do get period abnormalities once in a while. Minor illness, antibiotics can mess up with them. I'd not worry too much at this time unless other symptoms show up.
