Father's blood type?: It depends on the Father of the Baby's blood type. If his blood type is Rh negative, and you are Rh negative, then the baby will be Rh negative. You will not build a sensitization against future pregnancies. If he is Rh positive, however, it is a 50% likelihood that your baby is Rh positive. There is, therefore, a significant risk you could become sensitize, and jeopardize future pregnancies.

Your choice: Sounds like you have already decided not to do rhogam which would be recommended if you are rh-. You can become sensitized at any point in pregnancy, certainly greater risk at time when mixing of blood may occur such as during delivery. If you are thinking of having any more kids in the future, I would definitely reconsider your current plan. If not, since you are currently not sensitized, baby OK
