Lack of sleep: There is a rare condition called Fatal familial insomnia in which a person can't sleep and can die from this. However, most people would eventually fall asleep if exhausted. Extensive periods without sleep can do significant harm. There have been cases of rats that have died after severe sleep deprivation.
