A member asked:

Can smoking be the cause of my sleep disorder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That depends on what: your sleep disorder is, but it is highly unlikely to be THE cause. However, in people with obstructive or central sleep apnea, smoking can contribute to the low oxygen levels that are part of the disorder. Restless leg syndrome, for reasons that aren't clear, is more common in cigarette smokers. Have to tell me exactly what your sleep disorder is for a better answer.
