Yes: Most likely it is not cancer, but there is an increasing number of younger people with lumps that turn out to be cancerous. Part of this is due to lymphoma. More common now than before is this being a throat/tonsil cancer that has spread to the neck. These occur even in nonsmokers b/c they are HPV related. One course of antibiotics is not unreasonable, but do not ignore that this could be cancer.
