Pain in the ....: Coccygodynia, tailbone pain, has many causes. The most common are trauma while delivering a baby, or falling onto it. It is a joint, so any process that affects joints can be involved. Of course any of the tissue structures around it can also cause referred pain. An X-ray and examination by your doctor are in order. Treatment typically includes PT, medications or therapeutic steroid injections.
