A member asked:

Can intracellular proteins be stained by the same protocol used to stain t & b cells? what are your expert opinions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: In order to stain cellular proteins a monoclonal antibody must be produced against the protein. This antibody is prepared for use in a kit utilizing immunoperoxidase where a stain is attached to the antibody and the sectioned tissue undergoes the immunohistochemical procedure to allow visualization of the protein.
