No alcohol: If you drink alcohol during treatment with oxazepam, you may be at an increased risk of side effects such as unusual behavior, problems with coordination, and low blood pressure (hypotension). Combining alcohol and oxazepam may also slow the heart rate and breathing, causing a person to have difficulty breathing or to pass out -- or even possibly leading to loss of life.

Serax...: ...is the old brand name for oxazepam, a mid-potency benzodiazepine. It is used for anxiety and sleep. Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant just like benzodiazepines. Taking the two together can cause greatly magnified effects leading to respiratory depression and death.
