Possibly: Lactose intolerance can be genetic and recognized in infancy or acquired in later life. Gluten intolerance also has a genetic component but can also be acquired, it is seldom recognized until later. A person could have the tendency for both, or gluten induced gut changes may produce a lactose intolerance that might improve on a gluten free diet.
