MES: Musical Ear Syndrome (MES) is a condition in people who have hearing loss and then develop musical hallucinations as your mom has. It is unknown what causes this other than its association with hearing loss and treatment with certain medications has been tried with varying success. You should have your mom evaluated by an hearing specialist as some non-medicinal treatments are available as well.
