A member asked:

If u suspect a brown recluse spider bite but 22 hours later there's still no sign of a wound, could it be possible it wasn't that kind of spider?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The bite frequently is not felt at first and may not be painful, but can be serious. It has a potentially deadly hemotoxic venom. Most bites are minor with no necrosis. However, a small number of brown recluse bites do produce severe dermonecrotic lesions and fewer produce severe skin or systemic symptoms. Occasionally there will be minimal reaction.
