A member asked:

Can there be a relation of getting cysts w/swollen glands in one area on neck w/having neurological damage in same area?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Cysts and swollen glands in the neck rarely cause nerve damage. The major nerves are the 11th coming from behind the upper sternomastoid to the shoulder, the vagus on the carotid and the recurrent laryngeal entering thyroid cartilage. Damage is almost from a surgical injury.
