Usually yes: Need to speak with doctor you wish to observe with and then check hospital policy on this issue (most have one). Usually not much of a problem to arrange. Good luck.

Depends: Current laws concerning patient confidentiality are quite specific,Unlicensed persons not employed as part of the evaluation or treatment process are not allowed within hearing distance of related conversations or to access patient information. Some hospitals do have volunteer programs that allow limited access. Each facility has its own rules/procedures so they should be contacted directly
