Not unusual: It is not unusual to occasionally have an "off" period as the body's hormones are constantly fighting to stay in balance. Stress - emotional or physical - can alter that very delicate balance and the period can change. It is also important to rule out pregnancy and problems with your thyroid gland, as well as rule out fibroids in the uterus, especially if it does not normalize after 1-2 months
