How often should psych meds be assessed? am really struggling and wondering if i should ask my new doc for an assessment. it's been over 3 yrs.

More often than 3 yr: My goodness, even pts of mine who are considered "stable" and not requiring any med changes are seen at least once a year, and those on controlled substances (i.e. clonazepam) are seen every 6 months. You are long overdue what one of my pts refers to as her "10,000 mile check-up"! If "really struggling" is going on now, then you owe it to yourself to ask for a med check or a reevaluation.
