Cancer screening: The pap test is an important test that is used to screen for cervical cancer in women. It involves taking a gentle scraping of the cervix with a flexible plastic brush and having a cyto-pathologist look at these cells under a microscope. It is important that all women have this test performed yearly by their doctor.
