How long does pap test takes about?

3 minutes: It only takes a few minutes to actually obtain the swab of material needed for a pap smear but it will take several days to week to have the material analyzed by the lab.

One minute: A pap test is done as part of a routine gynecologic exam. The exam takes longer, but once the doctor is doing a vaginal exam the pap portion takes less than a minute, which involves just a gentle scraping of the inside of the cervix. It can sometimes take a few days to get the results however because it needs to be sent to a pathologist, who will read it and then report back.
