About to have arthroscopic shoulder surgery. severe arthritis, several bone spurs, cysts. how much pain can i expect after, approx recovery time?

Depends: it is hard to say exactly because I am unsure why you are having the procedure exactly. there is literature to support arthroscopic debridement for shoulder arthrits and the results happened to be fairly promising with relatively quick recovery. however if you need a rotator cuff repair, for example, that may require prolonged recovery and immobilization

Not good: If you really have severe arthritis, arthroscopy will not help much - may give minimal temporary relief ( a few months to a year)- likely will not full resolve your symptoms
