Get an ultrasound: Only an ultrasound can tell you if there is a deep vein blood clot. Often when someone has a blood clot, the calf will also be swollen. If you exercise a lot, it could be a pulled or strained muscle. If you have any pain behind your knee, it could be related to a Baker's cyst, which is benign.

Be seen: There is a simple test for a clot known as a Doppler ultrasound. Don't hesitate to be seen and checked for one.
