Moderation: The American DIabetes Association states that moderate intake of no more than 2 drinks/day (men) is ok as long as you are not drinking on an empty stomach, already have a low blood sugar, and don't count it as a carbohydrate on your diet for the day. Have a low calorie drink at hand as well to drink at the same time. Alcohol CAN cause hypoglycemia so check your sugar before you go to bed.
