Gestational Diabetes: Talk to your doctor who is managing your pregnancy about this. It is pretty routine to be tested.

Get Tested!: Most women with gestational diabetes are not symptomatic & earlier the treatment the less risk of complications. It is known to effect at least 6-7% of pregnancies as well. With that in mind the ADA & ACOG both recommend universal screening FOR ALL WOMEN between the 24th and 28th week of pregnancy, who have not already been diagnosed DM with routine blood work then a 1 or 2 stage OGTTs.
