How can kidney/uti symptoms differ from ectopic pregnancy?

Very different: An ectopic pregnancy typically presents itself in the first trimester with first trimester vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, usually in the pelvic area. UTI pain is often manifested as burning upon urination, suprapubic discomfort, urinary frequency and urgency, and pyelonephritis can cause accompanying fever, flank pain, nausea/vomiting, and costovertebral angle tenderness.

Not as severe: Usually an ectopic pregnancy presents with much more severe pain and in a more acute presentation compared to a uti. It also is associated with bleeding and pain located on one side.

Yes: Renal colic is like a progressively severe toothache in the flank and back with nausea and vomitung. The pt can not find acomfortable psoition and moves around. Ectopic pregnancy is an acute pelvic pain- blook irritates the pelvic lining and moving around makes it worse.
