No: Bisoprolol, or other beta-blockers, are mainly used to lower blood pressure or treat certain kinds of heart disease. Because they can decrease symptoms of palpitations (heart racing or pounding) and tremors (shakiness), they are sometimes used to treat symptoms of hyperthyroidism. But bisoprolol and other beta-blockers have no direct effect on the thyroid or thyroid hormone levels.
