Vertigo is the sensation of the room spinning and is distinct from dizziness or lightheadedness. There are several causes,most common is benign positional vertigo ( BPV)which occurs only in certain head turning positions. It lasts a few seconds but can be accompanied by nausea. Other causes include Meniere's disease, labyrinthitis stroke and rarely tumors. BPV can be helped by Epley maneuver.
