Speaking clearly: First have your dentist evaluate the partial to determine if there are any adjustments necessary in order to improve your speech. Often slight adjustments in contours of the teeth can make a big difference in speech patterns. In my experience patients begin to speak naturally within days or a week or two at most after receiving a new prostheses. The bigger the change, the longer the wait. See-->

4-6 weeks: It can be difficult to speak clearly when you are wearing a new partial denture. If you find it difficult to pronounce certain words with your new partial practice reading out loud. Repeat the words that give you trouble. With time, you will become accustomed to speaking properly with your partial. It is very individual, but an average is about 4-6 weeks.
