Hypoglycemia: Treat mild to moderate hypoglycemia with 8 oz of low fat or nonfat milk, 4 oz of fruit juice or non-diet soda, 1 tablespoon of sugar, or 5 pieces of hard candy. There also are glucose tablets which are available for this. Rule of thumb is to take 15g of carbohydrates and if blood sugar does not rise over 70, take another 15g. If 15 minutes later blood sugar still lower than 70, seek medical help.
