Safe drinking limits: in women have been extensively studied, and the guidelines are 1 standard drink (12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, 1 1/2 oz 40$ distilled spirits) per day, no more than 7 drinks per week, and never more than 3 standard drinks on any one occasion. More than that begins to increase risks of hypertension, liver and heart problems and problems associated with alcohol abuse/dependency.
