Why given?: This is a nutrient given in autism by doctors trhat know what they are doing. It is not necessary in a healthy child.

Depends: This is often given in hospital settings to stop/block liver damage from an acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdose. Under proper supervision it is safe and effective. I see little or no value in its use in any other setting.
