One year: Breastfeeding is believed to be the best form of nutrition for a baby. Breastfeeding for a year is the recommendation, although not all women can do this. Any amount of breastmilk a baby gets is good, the longer the better.

? time: I'm unclear what you mean by "time". Do you mean minutes per feeding? Then you are talking about 10-15 minutes per breast for nutrition with any extra time being comfort suckling. If you mean to what age, we would like to see you nurse until baby's first birthday, but every day you do nurse is an extra day of optimal nutrition. Hope this helps...
