Fair: Chemo therapy with RT used shrink large tumors pre op. 3 cycles of chemotherapy are given before surgery and again post surgery.. Commonly used drug combinations are ECF and ECX. ECF contains epirubicin, cisplatin and fluorouracil. ECX contains epirubicin, cisplatin and capecitabine (Xeloda). Side effects include drop in WBC, diarrhea and hair loss. Stage Ia survival is 70%.
