Salon worker?: Liquid monomer commonly refers to a monomer in acrylic nails, called ethyl methacrylate . it replaces a riskier monomer called methyl methacrylate. But it is not risk free. It depends on amount of exposure, duration of exposure and your underlying health. It can cause allergies, asthma, and dermatitis (rash). Workers with poor ventilation are at higher risk. Salons can be toxic places.
