Leukemia Chemotherap: Exact chemotherapy regimen depends on (1) type of leukemia (i.e., AML, ALL, CML, CLL), (2) leukemia genetic mutations, and (3) patient performance status (or fitness). In general, low risk acute leukemias are treated with chemotherapy from 4 months to 2.5 years; CML is treated lifelong with oral therapy; and CLL is sometimes not treated at all until the disease progresses.
