A member asked:

How much time does it take for potassium chloride to stop the heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Depends on the dose, the route of administration, and the rate of administration. During executions, it seems to take 15-30 minutes as best as I can determine it (I've never witnessed one I'm glad to say). That time frame would make sense to me. Theoretically, if you injected a massive amt of potassium directly into the heart, death might occur instantly.
