6 weeks?: 4 weeks post-partum is usually sufficient to heal prior to intercourse. This is based on how long it usually takes the cervix to close. Intercourse too soon can damage any stitches that were placed after birth and cause an infection in the uterus. Intercourse should be aborted if it hurts. Best wishes!
