Set limits.: Set clear and consistent limits w/ exploitative behaviors, provide empathy & validation when you believe the person truly deserves it, & provide gentle but realistic feedback when the person demands your undivided, unwarranted attention, adoration or praise. It can be difficult to live w/ a narcissistic person. You might consider your own therapy or suggest joint counseling.

Narcissist: Therapy for narcissists is often arduous, painful for both patient and therapist, as the narcissist is eventually brought to a place of what is known as profound narcissistic injury, which is the beginning of his poor self esteem that the narcissism resolutely defends against. I would opt for psychoanalysis. Living with a narcissist often means constant devaluation and being objectified.
