A member asked:

What amount wine & xanax (alprazolam) is lethal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Variable: Alcohol and xanax (alprazolam) affect the same receptors in the brain and both cause sedation. Sedate someone too much and they will stop breathing. The level of sedation depends on many factors - the patient's age, tolerance to alcohol / benzos, metabolism, etc... Wine and Xanax (alprazolam) should never be combined and there is no set 'lethal' dose.
