Least amount...: ...necessary not to exceed 3000mg in a 24-hour period of time. Don't take it all at once either, because it won't be any more effective in mega-doses. Not the best pain med available over the counter, just useful for fevers.

Depends on the : Strength of the Acetaminophen tablets you are taking. You should not take more than 2 extra strength tylenol (acetaminophen) tablet (650mg each) at a time. Additionally, stay below 4000mg of Acetaminophen a day. By following these guidelines you should be safe.

Yo an confirm this by asking your doctor to order a liver function panel and an Acetaminophen blood level for you to confirm that all is well.
