A member asked:

Should adults born premature get contrast mri before trying to get pregnant? to make sure no avm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not indicated: No literature or consensus statement exists to recommend MRI's be done to screen for AVM's in healthy, normal, neurologically intact folks looking to get pregnant except for a history of being born prematurely. Having said that I will add that if a person is not expecting insurance to pay and willing/able to pay for it then, I'm your doctor will likely be happy to give you an order
