A member asked:

I'm on birth control, currently have the rod and when i get my period it lasts for about 2weeks. i have had same issue with depo-provera and no birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Progesterone only...: None of the birth-control methods that only contain progesterone (and no estrogen) such as Depo-Provera, Implanon, Nexplanon (the "rod") etc, will give you regular periods of short duration. If you want to have regular periods you will need an estrogen/progesterone combination patch, pill or ring. Best wishes!
