OD on antibiotics: There have been recent reports to suggest that for community acquired pneumonia, a single primary line of antibiotics such as Amoxicillin is sufficient. Azithromycin, preferred for its shorter duration has limited efficacy. Adding Augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) which has another chemical added to Amoxicillin, to another antibiotic is thus not generally advised, unless your doctor determines resistance or other causes
