Ok my husband wakes up about two hours after eating vomiting what could be wrong?

Night time vomiting: If he is vomiting actual food, than something is blocked, esophagus,stomach, small intestine.If it is just fluid and small amounts than it could acid reflux which can occur just while in the lying position.
