Wisdom teeth ?: If this "extra flesh" is near the most posterior teeth, you might be cheek biting or there may be tissue overlying the last lower molar. See a dentist : This infection will not resolve on its own with home care. There are many and various dental problems with symptoms you have described (e.g. operculum, hyperplasia, etc.). I can appreciate your concerned about your dental health, but finding a proper diagnosis and treatment may be the answer to your worries. Rec.: see a dentist for evaluation, imaging and treatment.
