A doctor has provided 1 answer

A long list: Any part of the eye and brain can be affected in a way to cause vision loss. The cornea and lens can gradually lose transparency sometimes with inherited conditions. The retina can lose function from disease like diabetes or inherited problems. The optic nerve can degenerate and the brain can have strokes or tumors affecting vision.
