A few hours: This medication will be absorbed in the gut and cause a steady rise in blood levels over the next few days then plateauing the effects are longer to be seen. Unlike say Aspirin where you feel the effects in an hour this drug will take some time for you to notice the benefits especially if you just started the medication

Drug absorbtion: Levadopa is absorbed in the duodenum and is only about 30% boavalable, The general time to peak plasma concentration following an oral dose is 30-60min
