A member asked:

Can thyroid disease cause you to lactate? i breastfed for 6m then lactated for 6 then stopped lactating for 6m then i started again. what's going on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Significantly low thyroid levels can result in high prolactin, which can then cause lactation. However, if your thyroid level is normal on medication, it would not be a cause for lactation. You should have your prolactin level checked.
