Why did doctors change everyone's meds who was getting generic for vicodin to the generic for norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) meds?

Not important: There is no difference between these 2 drugs, both have Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Codeine as an ingredients. Lortab=Norco=Vicodin are the same medications. Hope it make sense.

Because: the FDA issued a warning against unit dosages containing more than 325 mg Tylenol (acetaminophen) as risk of liver damage. Norco contained less Tylenol (acetaminophen) than Vicodin. The manufacturer of Vicodin did recently reduce the amount of Tylenol (acetaminophen) but the generic versions lagged.
