Bad knee pain: It is perfect. You can use 800 mg of Ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory and pain killer. Drink a lots of water, apply moist heat, elevate your leg and do not put any pressure on your knee for a while. Get well soon.

Be careful: Knee pain in a patient of your age is usually caused by trauma, and not degenerative unless you have a genetic disposition to arthritis. If pain does not diminish significantly in a few days with self treatment, you need to go see a qualified Doctor for an evaluation. Compression bands that do not seem to reduce pain after a few days will not help. Untreated abnormalities can cause worse problems.
