Pregnant and using: Please call your OB today. Right now. Let her know you have been using Cocaine and you need help with substance abuse treatment, right away, before you use again. If you can't reach your doc, go to an ER. Cocaine is implicated in low birthweight, preterm birth, miscarriage, preterm labor, and smaller head size at birth. In some cases, it may be implicated in intrauterine death. Get help. U can!

The issue is how the: Cocaine has affected fetal brain development. Please see an OB for care including a high-resolution fetal ultrasound, referral to an addiction medicine specialist & a psychologist who can help you cope with the fact that you unknowingly placed your baby's health, growth & development at risk without resorting to drug use that can cause further harm.

Clean ?: Your pee or blood will be clear if you don't use from now on. If I have reason to look into babies system for evidence of drug exposure I can find it. If/when you end up on a list of past drug users with CPS or CFS there is often an effort to test any baby at risk. If you notify your OBGYN and work with them on identifying/resolving problems it can go better for you both.
