Local irritation : Sometimes they become dry and irritated causing itching. Sometimes they can become infected with normal yeast that is on your skin. Can try moisturizer several times a day in addition to any athletes foot cream 2-3 times a day for 2-3weeks. Hope this helps. Good luck!
